At Rasam, every dish tells a story. Their extended menu features a delightful array of dosas, including the classic Masala Dosa (A$17.00), the crispy Onion Rava Dosa (A$18.00), and the indulgent Cheese Masala Dosa (A$19.00). Authentic South Indian taste served with so much of love and affection that I have never had such an experience in Australia (though I am from Sydney). Fantastic ambience and experience.

We had a delicious and sumptuous buffet dinner on Saturday night at this authentic South Indian restaurant. The food was pure vegetarian and the staff and ambience were lovely. However, there is a weekend surcharge and limited opening days and specific timings, so it’s best to check the timings online. Street parking is limited. Despite these minor drawbacks, it’s still a great value for money and highly recommended.

Whenever I feel homesick and crave something truly authentic, I head straight to Rasam restaurant. Their dosa is absolutely delicious and reminds me so much of back home in India. It’s crisp, flavorful, and made with so much love — just like how it’s done back home. No matter how many times I’ve been here, the taste never disappoints. It’s my little comfort spot when I need a taste of home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for real Indian flavors!

Masala dosa here was great. Crispy, light batter and great accompanying chutneys and curry - we liked how we were given a selection of 3 different types. A note that this restaurant is entirely vegetarian. We'd definitely return!

I’d been wanting to try this restaurant for the longest time ever since I saw it across Kinloch Lodge. We were welcomed with a free cup of warm and fresh Rasam and I can’t tell you how much that melted my heart as a girlie on exchange who misses her South Indian food very dearly. We ordered a masala dosa and a medu vada and it took a very long time (~25 mins or so) to get prepared, but it was so so worth the wait. The food was super authentic and delicious, just the way you’d get it in south India. I came here again to satisfy my idli sambar cravings and was slightly disappointed by the portion, but was happy with the food and the timely serving nonetheless. I must admit though that I find some of their items here more pricier than other Indian restaurants in Canberra. If it weren’t for that and the short opening hours with relatively slow service, I would’ve frequented this place a lot more. Overall, love this place and would come here again once in a while :)

Delicious food!!! Had the breakfast buffet this morning, and every bite felt like home. The flavours were rich, comforting, and authentically South Indian — from the crispy dosas to the aromatic sambar, it all had that perfect homemade touch. The people were warm and welcoming, their smiles adding to the homely vibe. Exceptional service and genuine kindness made the whole experience even better. Honestly, I don’t think you can find a better South Indian breakfast in Canberra!

We walked in into this restaurant on a Tuesday evening. They serve only dosa on Tuesdays and each costing $14. We were seated without any delay and placed order for Mysore masala dosa and masala dosa. Food was served really quickly. Both dosas were wonderful. Mysore masala was spiced right. Masala filling was generous in both. Sambar is worth mentioning as it was on the thicker side, and flavourful. We also had goli soda in jeera flavour. Hope we will get a chance to savour the other items on their menu. A visit is highly recommended!
